A nice review from Mutantspace, who hit the nail on the head:

"...these collages require close observation...there are clues...a logic that goes beyond the aesthetic, a litany of suggestive motifs that look to prompt us, question us, demand that we pay attention...to look around and see ourselves as part of something bigger than our singular lives.... It is a fascinating process of working that requires a purposeful intent and a meticulous method.... It is collage as map- making, Holmes the cartographer sending us on a visual journey toward a greater understanding of our relationships with one another and society as a whole."

It would turn out that surprise would become a signature element of my work. I am indebted to Soraya Darwish for picking up on the quality that was, at the time, nascent.

".[Laura Tringali Holmes] ...is another truly inspirational collage artist. I’m always blown away by the dimension that her collages have. Colorful, lively masterpieces that have technique and wild imagination written all over them. What I love about her work is that she always surprises me; you just never know what’s coming."

A bunch of shows! Shows where my work was hung so high on the wall you needed a ladder to see it! Shows where my work was front and center! Shows that made me snooze and shows that made my pulse race! A solo show in my state's capital, in Albany, NY, entitled "The Strange, The Surreal, and the Sentimental." Hard to beat THAT name. And hard to beat all the positive attention and encouragement. Thanks, everybody.

The first book featuring my collages, and a whole bunch of them. "Waisted Vessel," a book of collage and poetry, Laura Tringali Holmes and the extraordinarily talented poet Beverly Leach (on-demand printing, Blurb)
