The Watermelon Party

Labor Day signals the end of summer,
time to put away the white shoes and purses, as my mother would say.
Bring on the new notebooks and pencils,
crisp weather, winter squash, leaf storms.

The Watermelon Party, hand collage on canvas board

But when those winter winds are whistling, I know that I will miss
the sweetness of summer running down my chin.
Happy Labor Day.

The forecast here is for another week of hot days! Phew, after the cool summer weather we've had this will be a treat for us.

I LOVE "The Watermelon Party"! Watermelon juice running down there white smocks would have sent those poor mom's over the edge!

I love your watermelon party collage! So creative! And you can keep wearing white .... Nobody cares anymore about that stuff :)

LaWendula--from thrift stores and tag sales, and the best ones are from friends.
amyd--when my daughter was in Australia, I had the hardest time with the season reversal. Wishing you a summer with more balance than we had here.
Carole--Ha! All that fabric! All that hand-washing!
Kimmie--The white stays, and so do the flip-flops!
