An array of bird collages has winged it's way into reality since March. I posted the first two pieces in this series in a previous blog:
http://lauratringaliholmes.blogspot.com/2012/03/un-bird-ening-in-spring-2012.html. I'm now back to add another five nestlings to the series. There are two more in the pipeline and then...perhaps...I will be done.
Fly, birdies, fly!

As one who is drawn to images of eggs, I find this bird series interesting...and I know there is underlying meaning. Would like to see these live since I know that photos do not do justice to the depth and detailing in your pieces.
I think your birdies are already flying Laura! All beautiful. I'd like to see them live too.
Thanks for the comments, Denise and Carole. The birds smell good, too. Gotta love beeswax.
these are all so different and equally wonderful!!!
Many thanks, Kimmie!
Adrian, thanks! The jaunty poker-faced woodpecker is definitely one of my faves, too!
wonderful work! so sad about the mint! in Mi of course the only herbs that are perennials are sage and chive, so I have to replant every year, I too adore the varieties and spearmint is my least fav too!!
Caterina, the parsley, basil, rosemary, and lavender make up for the mint. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a spearmint aversion!
Great work, love the mixed media collages, especially the ones coated in beeswax. It really makes it seem more surreal.
Hey, thanks! Plus the beeswax makes the piece smell really good. I know what you mean about the surreality though--it's like looking through a veil.
